Club
Standards - Your Opportunity for Leadership Toastmasters International
(TI) has researched the ingredients that make the difference between a good club
and a great club, and they have identified 10 key factors. I am going to share
these with you in a series of Tips of the Week, with a particular focus on how
every member contributes to Gilbert Toastmasters success. Standard 10:
Administrative work is handled promptly and efficiently. This will provide
you with a little peek behind the curtain of what the officers do in order to
help our club run efficiently. Our Treasurer is responsible for keeping
our financial records current and accurate. In addition, he or she should report
to the club every quarter on our financial status. The Secretary is responsible
for keeping our officer list current with Toastmasters International. The
Vice President of Membership is responsible for keeping our membership information
current with Toastmasters International. She will often have assistance from the
Treasurer in this effort. The Vice President of Education is responsible
for submitting applications to Toastmasters International for your educational
awards. The President is ultimately responsible for assuring that everything
is done. To assist with communication between officers, the President convenes
the Executive Council once a month. The purpose of the EC, in reference to Standard
10, is to make sure that all the behind the scenes work that needs to be done
is actually getting done promptly and efficiently. Your current officers
deserve your appreciation, as they have done an excellent job this term. Please
take some time to express your gratitude, especially to those officers whose roles
are behind the scenes. They do a tremendous job on your behalf to keep the club
running smoothly. |
